My Content Winners

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 22, 2009, 2:05 PM

So here we are, at the end! Thank you all for participating in my contest. I love each and every piece! You guys did awesome work. I had a tough time choosing the winners. So many pieces to choose from. If I had the time, I would do a prize for every one of you. Unfortunately, that just isn't possible.

Now, to the entrants, you may request a breakdown of your score. This will include critiques on your picture! (If you don't like critiques, don't ask!) My critiques are geared towards a goal in a realism style. If that's not your goal, it's probably not worth asking. Note me with your request. I will get it sent it out to you. If it takes awhile, it's because lots have asked (so please be patient!). Please title your note with "Score Breakdown." This way I won't read it until I'm ready to break it all down for you, so I don't miss anybody.

Also, I feel the need to give this warning. I think you're all awesome people, so I don't figure this being a problem, but if anybody tries to complain or throw a tantrum to me or any of the winners, I will post a journal about it and let everybody else bash on you. I have no patience for immaturity.

Even though this went much, much longer than intended, I hope you all enjoyed participating! I will probably do another content, when everything is caught up. (Maybe starting the end of this year, or beginning of next, depending on what school is like.) So, if you have ideas or suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

The Winners

Winners, send me a note of what you want and what you're looking for. Thanks! And congratulations!

1st Place

by *SilverFlameWanderer

I really feel like I connect with this, like she captured a part of me in it. The composition is excellent and I love the world breaking around them.

Full color, full background drawing of your choice of character. It will done on 9X12 inch sketch paper with Prisma colored pencils. I will ship it if you pay for shipping (I am kind of poor . . .)
-or-
Two large prints, up to 11X17 inches, or whatever arrangement of prints and sizes you can fit on those two sheets.

2nd Place

by *CozmicDreamer

I might be biased with this one, because it hangs on my wall at home. I love the beautiful colors and the amazing details. It was put together beautifully.

Full color drawing of your choice of character. No background here. Again, I will ship if you pay. I will also do a background for a low-cost commission price if you're interested.
-or-
One large print, up to 11X17 inches, or whatever arrangement of prints and sizes you can fit on the sheet of paper.

3rd Place

by *Maeix2

I was really torn between two pieces for third place, but I decided on this one. I love how she depicted Torch and hinted at an upcoming rivalry. The feathers on her stallion's wings are awesome.

A finished sketch of your choice of character. I will email it to you as lineart, if you are interested. I will finish it for a low-cost commission price, if you are interested.
-or-
One small print, up to 8.5X11 inches, or whatever arrangement of prints and sizes you can fit on the sheet of paper.

Heeeeeeee! *bounces*

Let it begin!
Heee! Can't wait to get started on this - the date is so far away that I might give it a go in oils!! (it's too cold at the moment, I don't work well with brushes when my fingers are freezing)
:excited:

Gabriel: I'm a sensitive snake.
Dr Eliza JS: Do you believe it's OK to be a sensitive snake?
Gabriel: Why, yes I rather do. Would you prefer if I was homicidal megalomaniac like my first children?
I can understand that! It's probably a lot colder there then it is here . . . And yay! I knew I wanted it a ways off, but I didn't want it to interfere with final exams or anything, so this seemed like the best solution . . . Plus, I'd really love to get a lot! :D
